MENOPUR is provided as a powder which must be mixed with liquid (solvent) before it is used. It is given as an injection into a muscle or under the skin. MENOPUR contains the active substance menotrophin which belongs to a group of medicines called gonadotrophins.
How long does Menopur take to work?
Menopur is a stimulation medication used in the IVF process to provide the hormones necessary for inducing ovarian follicular growth. You will take your IVF stimulation medications for about 8-12 days, and you can expect mild to moderate side effects throughout the length of treatment.
Is Menopur a gonadotropin?
Menopur is a gonadotropin medication used for fertility treatments. It contains two hormones that are naturally produced by your pituitary gland- follicle-stimulating factor (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). These hormones help your ovaries produce a mature egg (inside of a follicle) and stimulate estrogen production.

MENOPUR is a clear and colourless solution for injection in a pre-filled pen. MENOPUR 600 IU mL solution for injection in pre-filled pen is available in packs of 1 pre-filled pen and 12 pen injection needles. MENOPUR 1200 IU solution for injection in pre-filled pen is available in packs of 1 pre-filled pen and 21 pen injection needles.
When should a patient take Menopur ®?
The patient can take Menopur ® at any time of day that is convenient for them. However, their clinic may advise them on the timing of their injection. It’s best if the patient takes it at approximately the same time each day, so they should choose a time that they will be able to stick to for the whole course of treatment.
What are the different sizes of Menopur?
MENOPUR is available in the following containers and pack sizes: Powder: 2 ml colourless glass (Type I) vial with rubber stopper closed with a cap. Solvent: 1 ml colourless glass (Type I) ampoule. The product is supplied in packs of 1, 5 or 10 vials with the corresponding number of solvent ampoules. Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
