What happens if you get diagnosed with prostate cancer?

What is a prostate gland & how does it work?
The prostate is a small gland found only in men and trans women. It surrounds the tube that carries urine out of the body (urethra). The prostate gland produces a thick, white fluid that gets mixed with sperm to create semen. The prostate gland is about the size and shape of a walnut but tends to get bigger as you get older.
What are the symptoms of early prostate cancer?

What causes prostate cancer?
The causes of prostate cancer are largely unknown. But certain things can increase your risk of developing the condition. The chances of developing prostate cancer increase as you get older. Most cases develop in men aged 50 or older. For reasons not yet understood, prostate cancer is more common in black men and less common in Asian men.
