ProstaFX: Support for Prostate Health and Urinary Function
ProstaFX FAQ
When should I start taking Prostap SR?
You usually start taking this a few days before your first injection and continue it for the first few weeks. If you have early hormone-sensitive breast cancer, you will be given Prostap SR once a month in combination with tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor.
How do Prostap® & Zoladex® work?
Prostap® or Zoladex® are gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists. They temporarily stop your ovaries from functioning and therefore stop the hormone oestrogen being produced. By temporarily reducing oestrogen levels, fibroids or endometriotic deposits can shrink over a period of time.
How often should I get Prostap SR?
If you have advanced breast cancer, you will be given Prostap SR once a month as an add-on to your other breast cancer treatment. You may have Prostap SR injection once a month, or Prostap 3 injection once every three months.
How long does it take for finasteride to work?
Finasteride is for men only. It must not be taken by women, children or adolescents. Take one tablet each day. Your symptoms may start to improve within a few weeks, although it can take up to six months for you to notice the full benefit. The prostate gland commonly becomes larger in older men.
