Divigel is a clear, colorless gel, which is odorless when dry. Estradiol is a form of estrogen, a female sex hormone that regulates many processes in the body. Divigel is used to treat certain symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, and vaginal dryness, burning, and irritation.

What is Divigel (estradiol gel) used for?

Divigel (estradiol gel) 0.1% is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe hot flashes due to menopause. Divigel® eliminated nearly 90% of hot flashes by 12 weeks with 1 mg/day. Get relief from moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes and night sweats) due to menopause

How do I use Divigel®?

Use estrogen-alone, or in combination with progestin, at the lowest effective dose and for the shortest duration consistent with treatment goals and risks for the individual woman. Divigel® is a concentrated gel applied to a small area on the upper thigh. Choose a convenient time to apply Divigel® each day that is easy to remember.

What are the side effects of Divigel?

Using Divigel can increase your risk of blood clots, stroke, heart attack, or cancer of the breast, uterus, or ovaries. Estradiol should not be used to prevent heart disease, stroke, or dementia. Estradiol topical is absorbed through the skin and can cause side effects in a child who comes into contact with the skin where you have applied Divigel.

Divigel is available in five doses of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, and 1.25 grams for topical application (corresponding to 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, and 1.25 mg estradiol, respectively). The active component of the topical gel is estradiol.
